Our Story – Told by Me (Mister's POV)

Fred and I had seen each other in passing before, but neither of us paid it much attention. It wasn’t until we were officially introduced during a night out that things shifted. What started as casual conversation turned into an easy friendship — one of those rare connections where the energy just feels right. We’d check in on each other here and there, keeping things light and friendly, not knowing that something deeper was quietly forming.

There’s one night that stands out clearly in my memory — Fred’s birthday, the year before we started dating. He thought someone was being a little too aggressive toward me and, without hesitation, stepped in to protect me. I didn’t realize it at the time, but in that moment, I’d gotten a glimpse of who he truly was — my protector, even before I knew I had one in him.

Not long after, Fred hosted a game night at his home. By the end of the night, he offered me his spare room to stay over, and what was supposed to be a quick crash turned into hours of deep conversation. We talked about everything — family, dreams, goals, life, and all the things in between. But what I remember most wasn’t just what we said, it was how he made me feel. He made sure I was comfortable, checked in on me, and looked after me in this quiet, thoughtful way that was just… him. Maybe he was making sure I didn’t steal anything, but in truth, that night was the start of something special.

Our connection grew naturally from there — long talks turned into hangouts, hangouts turned into movie nights. The first movie we watched together was Hard Candy, starring Patrick Wilson. To this day, it’s also the first of many movies I’ve fallen asleep on in his arms.

Then came March 19, 2022 — the day that changed everything. We were in Atlanta when Fred surprised me with a Pandora bracelet that had half a heart charm, the other half matching his. That was the day we made it official, and from that moment on, life with him has been full of love, laughter, and new experiences.

We’ve shared so much since then — exploring new cities, bonding with each other’s families, Tuesday movie nights, spontaneous restaurant adventures, random TJ Maxx trips, and more Chinese food than we’ll ever admit. Every memory, every laugh, every small, ordinary day has become part of the extraordinary story we’re writing together.

And now, coming up on 5 years, I can’t wait to add forever to that list — with the love of my life, my protector and my peace of mind.

The Truth – Told by Me (Fred's POV)

So boom... the first time we met was at the Woodward. I get introduced to this young man with a fresh S-curl, a blazer, and loafers. Real put together. Real polite. Maybe too polite... But he was cool, super nice, and we clicked right away. Next thing I know, we're running around the bar laughing, joking, just vibing like we’d known each other for years.

After that, we were talking on the phone all day. And I mean all day. Morning, night, whenever. Time goes by, I see him again just out and about, same face, even better S-curl but something felt different. I didn’t clock it right away, but clearly he had a plan… because who knew he was trying to get me?

The moment it really hit me that this wasn’t just friendly was at the Woodward again, standing in the mirror. I saw us together and was like, “Oh… okay. Yeah. This might be something.” We took our first trip together to Atlanta, and that sealed it. Being together like that, moving around as a unit, no outside noise; it just felt natural. Easy. Like we’d already been doing this.

Some of my favorite times are our trips where it’s just us, like our anniversary trip to Universal Studios in Orlando; no distractions, just laughs, food, Harry Potter, and two of us. The little things mattered. Seeing how we fit into each other’s worlds, hearing him talk about me at work, checking in on me, pulling me into his everyday life… that meant a lot. It was something about being seen. Even the gifts meant something. My favorite being a watch box that says "All three thousand things on my mind are timeless moments with you"

And then there’s the part where he “didn’t move in”… but definitely moved in. One day his stuff was just there. But I had no complaints. I’ll never say this out loud, but I like when he cooks for me. The way he turns into a little Chef Boyardee, plating everything perfectly like a little restaurant moment at home. Most importantly, He listens to my opinion, values what I think, even when we don’t see things the same way — and that matters to me.

He also got me into musicals, which is wild, because I never saw that coming. Now every time one pops up, I say to myself, “Yeah, we gotta go.” One of my favorite memories is when I surprised him with Legally Blonde: The Musical at the Fox — perfect seats, perfect dinner, the whole experience.

Looking ahead, I just want us even more locked in. More life, more laughs, more memories. Stronger bond. Same perfect team.
